National Restaurant Association Names Joan Rector McGlockton Vice President of Industry Affairs and Food Policy

  • National Restaurant Association The National Restaurant Association today announced Joan Rector McGlockton has joined the Association as Vice President of Industry Affairs and Food Policy. In this position, she will lead the Association's food regulatory policy and advocacy efforts. McGlockton has extensive experience working with food service and hospitality issues, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Sodexo, Inc.

    "Joan brings a breadth of knowledge of food service and restaurant operational issues to this key leadership role for the Association," said Scott DeFife, Executive Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs for the National Restaurant Association. "Food safety and nutrition are critical issues for the National Restaurant Association and our members. We are pleased to welcome Joan to our team, and we look forward to her leadership and expertise."

    In her twelve years’ experience with Sodexo, Inc., McGlockton served as Associate General Counsel, where she served on the company’s senior leadership team. She has extensive experience in building strategic alliances and coalitions, as well as managing regulatory matters. Prior to her work with Sodexo, McGlockton served as Corporate Secretary at Marriott International, Inc. 

    McGlockton has served on several not-for-profit boards including the Sodexo Foundation, the American Dietetic Association Foundation and the Howard University School of Business Hospitality Management Board of Advisors. McGlockton received her bachelor's degree from Duke University and law degree from Harvard Law School.
