  • Restaurant News Resource Orange's Danny Ks Cafe and Billiards (CA) and Cleveland's West Park Station (OH) join Mezzanine Lounge in the Buzztime Smartest Bar's Winners Circle as 2nd and 3rd place, respectively

NTN Buzztime, Inc. (NYSE Amex: NTN), a leading social entertainment and integrated marketing platform for bars and restaurants, is excited to announce the winners of the Buzztime Smartest Bar Competition. Finishing 1st and taking the title of Smartest Bar is Houston's Mezzanine Lounge. Orange's Danny Ks Cafe and Billiards won 2nd place, with Cleveland's West Park Station finishing in 3rd place.

To determine the Smartest Bar, Buzztime challenged its network of thousands of bar and restaurant customers in the US and Canada to compete head-to-head answering sports, art, history and pop culture bar trivia questions. After months of competition, 80 bars and restaurants qualified for the final round with Mezzanine Lounge, Danny Ks and West Park Station taking top honors and walking away with Smart Bar accolades.

The patrons from Houston's Mezzanine Lounge captured the title of Smartest Bar across US and Canada by scoring a whopping 24,483 points to win 1st Prize. Orange, CA's Danny Ks Cafe and Billiards team came in 2nd place amongst the remaining semi-finalists, narrowly beating out 3rd place winner Cleveland's West Park Station by a mere 2,164 points.

"Mezzanine Lounge has settled the ultimate debate: they are the smartest bar across the US and Canada," said Michael J. Bush, President and CEO, NTN Buzztime, Inc. "We congratulate Mezzanine Lounge and our other top winners, and would like to thank all the participants in the Smartest Bar Competition. It's been a fun journey this year and we look forward to finding out who will be the Smartest Bar in 2012."

Participants were quizzed to see if they could provide correct answers to questions in the bar game's following categories: The Sciences, The World, The Shows, The Past, The Games and The Arts. The top bar and restaurant scores were determined by the location's average of the top five player's scores.  Final scores were the sum total of the locations' top four weekly scores in November.
