Daves commitment to people can be illustrated by several company programs such as: discounts in franchising for veterans, collecting cell phones for soldiers, financial assistance programs for employees, annual employee service awards, monthly recognition for employees meeting/exceeding strategic goals, and the Little Caesars Love Kitchen, a mobile restaurant for homeless and disaster victims.
The Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) will present the 2011 Commitment to People Award to David Scrivano, President & CEO of Little Caesars Pizza. He will be honored at the Commitment to People Awards Gala on Monday evening, August 1, 2011, during CHART’s 82nd Semi-Annual Hospitality Training Conference to be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
“Dave is well known for his ‘open door’ policy. He is committed to connecting with all employees and providing opportunities”
“Created in 1993, this prestigious award is given annually to a CHART member’s CEO/president in the hospitality industry who demonstrates outstanding commitment to the development of his or her associates,” explained Mike Amos, FMP, Franchise Consultant for Perkins & Marie Callender’s and President of CHART. Mike added, “Dave’s dedication, support, and warm approachability to people in his organization are what made him the perfect choice for this year’s award. The right attitude, culture and spirit must (and does) come from the top at Little Caesars.”
Dave Scrivano started in the pizza business nearly 25 years ago as an assistant store manager and has since held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility. A central philosophy of his is to put people first, both employees and those in need in the community.
“Dave inspires all of us to be great leaders. He has incredible vision, dedication and passion, but more importantly, he has the interest in developing others and the compassion for the people around him,” said Dan Walker, National Director of Training and Development, Little Caesars Pizza.
Dave’s commitment to people can be illustrated by several company programs such as: discounts in franchising for veterans, collecting cell phones for soldiers, financial assistance programs for employees, annual employee service awards, monthly recognition for employee’s meeting/exceeding strategic goals, and the Little Caesars Love Kitchen, a mobile restaurant for homeless and disaster victims.
Little Caesars Pizza provides many mentoring and leadership opportunities. Each year, all corporate employees, including Dave, work two days in a restaurant to understand operations first-hand. In return, some in-store employees come to the corporate office to learn what others do. This exchange allows employees to connect and feel they are all part of one organization.
“Dave is well known for his ‘open door’ policy. He is committed to connecting with all employees and providing opportunities,” commented Jeff Drozdowski, Manager of National Training, Little Caesars Pizza. Jeff and Dan also stated that “As Little Caesars Pizza continues to grow; Dave continues to grow his people. He has invested in training programs to further enhance the overall company.”
