The Houston-based restaurant company worked with its retail electricity provider Reliant, an NRG company, to install an electric vehicle charging station at its premier location on Westheimer Road in Houston.
Now patrons can charge their electric vehicles, courtesy of Pappas Bros., while they dine.
“Having an electric vehicle charging station for Pappas customers to use sends an important message to the community about the future of electric vehicles as a viable alternative to fossil-powered transportation.”
The installation of the charging station helps advance the work of Reliant and its parent company, NRG Energy, to power the successful adoption of electric vehicles and to establish statewide public charging infrastructure.
“Reliant and NRG are pioneering cleaner, smarter energy choices for consumers through the broad adoption of electric vehicles, innovative energy solutions and solar power,” said Jason Few, Reliant President and NRG Executive Vice President & Chief Customer Officer. “Having an electric vehicle charging station for Pappas customers to use sends an important message to the community about the future of electric vehicles as a viable alternative to fossil-powered transportation.”
“It’s exciting to join Reliant and NRG in blazing the trail for electric vehicles,” said Christopher Pappas, Pappas Restaurants. “The charging station enhances the extraordinary service we already deliver to our customers. The opportunity for our customers to charge their electric vehicle and enjoy fine cuisine sets us apart from other steakhouses.”
The charging station is located in the Pappas Bros. Steakhouse parking lot and can deliver up to 25 miles per hour of charging. Two dedicated parking spaces near the charger will be reserved for EV owners wishing to charge their vehicles while they dine.
